What is actually free?
Full discovery. Run the self-hosted binary and inventory every connection your agents and people have made, see what data each one can reach, and find the exposure you didn't know about. It's unlimited, with no seat caps. The free tier doesn't enforce anything; it shows you what's there.
How does the Business tier work?
It's $24 per user per month, billed annually, which works out to $288 per user per year. That turns on enforcement: SSO, role-based access, approval workflows, a full audit trail, a governed catalog, and the ability to allow, scope, or kill any connection. Discovery stays unlimited.
What is a governed non-human identity?
It's an agent or service account that Backstack actively governs, not a person. The Business tier includes a generous pool, roughly 50 governed identities for every 25 seats. If you need more, each additional governed identity is $8 per month.
When do I need Enterprise?
When you're running air-gapped or across multiple clusters, need SSO federation, want an SLA, or require SOC 2, a DPA, and an MSA. It's sales-led with volume pricing. Talk to us and we'll size it to your deployment.
